Happy Mother’s Day from Hummingbird Dreams Photography

Last week I attended an onOne Software webinar with Doug Landreth titled “Create a Digital Bouquet for Mother’s Day”. I learned more tips for using Perfect Photo Suite 8 and Doug was kind enough to share his files for creating the bouquet – a texture, 5 different flowers (that were already masked and saved as PNG’s) and three different text graphics. If you are interested in creating a digital bouquet for your mother, here is Doug’s blog post where you can download the ZIP file. There were some audio difficulties on the webinar so the video that was uploaded to YouTube has been removed. 😦

Update: Guess what? Here’s the video for you! 🙂

If you don’t have onOne’s Perfect Photo Suite 8 to create your bouquet, you can use Photoshop (Photoshop Elements, GIMP or any other layers based program) to create the image; OR…you can download a 30-day trial from onOne’s website.

With that said…the layout is my creation.
Flowers, again, courtesy of Doug Landreth.
Color overlay on the background flowers was taken by me yesterday at the Gardens of the World – it was an intentionally (very) blurry photo for the colors only – the texture file from Photomorphis/Doug Landreth helped to bump up the contrast and saturation.
The mat, watermark and Happy Mother’s Day text & shadow were added in PaintShop Pro X6 Ultimate.

This is cross posted on my other blog DS Photography & Graphics.

    • Amanda, I’ve tried the Suite in previous versions and wasn’t too crazy about it. I saw in one of your posts that you used it for one of your designs, I did a web search, and with version 8…I absolutely love this software! I’ve used Photoshop since Version 4 (back in the 90s) and have gotten tired of the “bloat”. I don’t have the money for the monthly CC, so that wasn’t even an option. Photo Suite 8 is definitely a program for photographers! And they’re doing it right. 🙂

      • Yes its a fab bit of kit, I do use Photoshop Elements as well for things such as layers and PNG images, but for my editing effects Photo Suite 8 has become my ‘go to app’. Theres a free update coming this month for owners with version 8.5. 🙂
