  1. In Botanical Latin, there are about two dozen words for the kind of hairs growing on the leaves and buds and twigs of plants. Words are like footprints on the path. Many plants without tiny hairs, have crenelated leaves, maximizing the areas that hold ice crystals and water droplets. Inventing new words is hard work. Especially words describing new worlds. Thankfully, there are beautiful pictures, too. THGg
