Today is the first day where I’m writing the post BEFORE I’ve finished editing the photo. What I wanted to say was coming as I softly looked at the image…it was more like a meditation/pondering. What occurred to me was why I like the softer images of flowers/nature. The internet is full of sharply focused images of flowers so you know they are flowers, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But I don’t want to be like everyone else! I want to follow my own vision and be unique. My intention, as a photographer, is to give you the chance to slow down and let your imagination run wild…or allow yourself to use them to meditate and just enjoy the colors.

Today’s image is the same Peruvian Lily used in yesterdays post/image, before it fell apart. I was also playing around with 2 pieces of plexiglass, a spray bottle of water and food coloring – that’s what created the aqua color surrounding the flower. Setup and shooting was, as always, done in the garage. I love shooting in RAW and then playing with the image in Lightroom, dodging and burning to create something unique.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”
– Albert Einstein
