I recently got some new flowers from the local grocery store. They are so pretty and colorful; I like that there is a variety of flowers in there – like Day/Asian/Peruvian lilies, a pretty yellow button looking flower, etc. Not being in the mood to watch TV last night I took the flowers and my camera gear out to the garage, set up my pop-up light tent and tripod and began to have some fun.
Since I can’t afford a macro lens I purchased a set of magnifying filters, I find myself using the 10x filter the most. I was reading a post on the internet about using two fingers from latex gloves to diffuse the light from the flash that comes with the Olympus OM-D E-M5. I couldn’t remember where I had seen the gloves last (in the garage), so I decided to use a white plastic shopping bag over the flash (had read that tip on the internet some time ago). It worked like a charm!
I love how soft this image came out. Light post-processing was done in Lightroom 5.
